Balayage is not new…It’s Back!

Balayage is all the rage right now but the truth is, it’s not new…it’s back! After a few women saw models and A-listers wearing it on catwalks and red carpets, it became much desired rather than foil highlights.

Balayage is a French word meaning “to sweep” or “to paint”. It allows for natural-looking hair color, similar to what the sun does to our hair as children. The look is a softer, natural look with less noticeable regrowth lines.

Balayage does not require a lot of maintenance and you can wear it longer between appointments. All you really need to do is protect with a color-protecting shampoo and conditioner as you would any other color. Also, make sure to use heat protection when styling.

Although the colors for a classic Balayage are supposed to be subtle, you can use the same technique with contrasting colors for some wild effects!
