A B Corp certified company is a for-profit business verified by the non-profit organization B Lab to meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. To become certified, a company must complete a rigorous assessment, meet a minimum score of 80, integrate B Corp commitments into its governing documents, and pay an annual fee to maintain the certification, which requires re-certification every three years. Examples of B Corp-certified companies include Patagonia, Ben & Jerry’s, and Allbirds.
